11 Things You Absolutely Shouldn’t Do After Winning The Lottery
July 18, 2015
DON’T give your winning ticket to someone else to cash for you.
DON’T tell your friends you’ve won, they might steal your ticket.
Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot stands at $425 million, making it the fourth largest lottery jackpot ever in U.S. history, CBS News reports.
DON’T bring $545,000 in cash to a strip club. You don’t want to spend your winnings bailing yourself out of jail.
DON’T try to “double your money” at a casino.
DON’T tell your spouse… or your kids. It’s a nice thought, but bankruptcy is not a good look.
DON’T “store” your ticket in a safe place and forget about it.
. To be safe, maybe you just shouldn’t tell anyone.
DON’T steal a car. True, your odds of you winning aren’t exactly high (one in 171 million), but someone’s gotta win eventually.
In the event that you do win the lottery, here are a few friendly tips on what not to do:
DON’T try to skip out on paying taxes.
DON’T assume you’re suddenly an amazing entrepreneur.
DON’T throw your ticket in the trash.
And finally, DON’T give all of your winnings to charity
