April 16, 2016
At most Vegas sports books prior to the game yesterday, the Denver Broncos were a 2.5 – point favorite to win the big game. Cumulative profit of approximately 16.5% for the books was the largest proportional return since the Patriots defeated the Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX.
According to the Las Vegas Advisor, 65% of the Super Bowl betting action favored Denver at the LVH super book in Vegas. The underdog Seahawks completely outplayed the Broncos and ran away with a 43-8 victory over Peyton Manning’s team.
A record handle of $119.4 million was legally wagered on yesterday’s Super Bowl at Nevada state sports books. The largest single wager at MGM Grand’s book was $300,000 on a Seahawks win.. That figure is more than 20% higher than last year’s record $98.9 million bet on the Ravens & 49ers game.
Las Vegas sports books won almost $19.7 million on yesterday’s Super Bowl XLVIII according to an announcement by the Nevada Gaming Control Board today
